Stalwart galloper Where’s Wally added a seventh win to his 46-start career for trainer Andrew Carston when taking out the Otautau Farmlands/Uncle Bucks Second Hand Shop Handicap (1400m) at Riverton on Friday.

The eight-year-old Ghibellines gelding was keen to get going early under young apprentice Ayush Mudhoo, who found the best ground on the outside rail as they turned for home, and kicked on to win by a convincing two and three-quarter lengths.
Mudhoo is currently on loan to Carston from the North Island and it was his first win for the stable.
“He was pretty happy to get the win, and I was happy for him too,” Carston said.
“I thought he did a good job to get him into a good spot and from the top of the straight I was pretty confident he would win from there."
Carston said that the Heavy10 track and the four-kilogram claim of Mudhoo favoured Where’s Wally on Friday.
“He’s a consistent gelding who has been with me from the start,” he said. “He’s done a really good job, and I think there’s still a bit left in the old fella if we place him right too.”
Where’s Wally is raced by his breeders David and Hazel Voice and Donald and Jose Arthur.
The win provided a unique double for Jose Arthur who also races a greyhound with the same name which won its first start at Addington on Friday, making it an excellent day for connections and one for the record books too.
Where’s Wally headed home to Carston’s Riccarton base after his tough effort on Friday, while the rest of Carston’s runners will kick on to Sunday’s meeting at Ascot Park.
“French Fille and Friendofthedevil look to be the best of our chances on Sunday,” he said. “They both ran well on Friday and with a bit of luck I’m sure they will run well again.”
