The six-year-old son of Ghibellines was coming off a third-equal placing last month at the same track and distance but was too good for his rivals this time round.
Jumping from barrier three with Lily Sutherland aboard, Where’s Wally stuck to the inside and let everyone do the work around him. On straightening a gap presented with Sutherland urging her mount forward and Where’s Wally responding to go on to win by 1 ¾ L.
Trainer Andrew Carston was pleased with the effort and said it signaled for good things to come over the colder months.
“He has been working towards that win,” Carston said. “His last run was really good so I was confident today.
“It was a nice ride from Lily so hopefully he is in for a good winter.”
Raced by his breeders David and Hazel Voice and Donald and Jose Arthur, the win was fourth of Where’s Wally’s career.
