Sooo Dusty so good at Kumara

Talented filly Sooo Dusty kicked off her 2021 campaign in fine style winning the NZB Insurance Pearl Series Race (1200m) at Kumara on Saturday.

Though slow to get away, Kozzi Asano urged the daughter of Power forward and they hit the front coming out to the turn. She then continued to run on strongly to win by a half length and pick up the lucrative bonus.

"This is the first horse I have had for Dave Green & Kelvin Hore," trainer Andrew Carston said. "It was great to get the win for them and pick up the Pearl Series bonus."

Carston said he was expecting a strong showing after the three-year-old filly had run second at her last start in December.

"We were confident after her last run and waited for a Pearl Series Bonus Race so it was a great result," he said. "She will now head to the Gore Guineas."

The Listed Gore Guineas (1335m) will be run on January 23.
