Savabeel four-year-old Sincere continued his affinity with the Riccarton synthetic track winning the Racecourse Hotel & Motor Lodge R65 (1600m) on Thursday.
He had been a winner on the track last campaign over 1400m and served up a strong effort this time round to pick up his second career win.
Ridden by Kozzi Asano, he settled midfield and when a gap presented on the home straight the pair strode through, running on to win by three quarters of a length.
Trainer Andrew Carston said he had been a horse that had taken a bit of time so was pleased to see the ownership group rewarded for their patience.
“He is a nice progressive horse,” Carston said. “We have just had to be a bit patient as he has been a touch slow to mature.
“He seems to like the synthetic and it’s nice to get a feature day stake money win ($20,125) for his owners.”
Bred by Waikato Stud, Sincere is out of unraced O’Reilly mare Heartfelt who is a half-sister to Group Three winner Residential.
