Seven Eleven broke through for her deserved maiden success at Riccarton on Wednesday when winning the Speight's Summer Ultra Premier (2000m).
The four-year-old mare races in the colours of Go Racing for the Go Racing Altitude Syndicate and had landed three placings leading up to her victory.
Seven Eleven has been consistent this preparation, with two fourths and a third leading up to her win.
This time around she jumped smartly for jockey Sam Spratt though had to settle in the second half of the field three wide without cover.
On hitting the straight the pair launched their attack and quickly made their way to the front, holding off a late challenge from Buster Shaw to win by a half neck.
Trainer Andrew Carston was thrilled to get a win during Riccarton's biggest week of racing and said he was happy for her connections.
"It is always good to get a win during Cup Week," he said. "It was a good effort and it's a privilege to train for Go Racing who are good supporters of the stable."
