Vouch returned to the winner’s circle on Friday with a bold front running performance at Riccarton.
The five-year-old mare jumped smartly and travelled the entire 1600m of the Fasttrack Insurance Added Stakes R65 untroubled and cruised home to a two length victory.
“Vouch went well on Cup Day so I was expecting a good run,” trainer Andrew Carston said.
“It was a nice positive ride from Kylie (Williams) and the mare is putting together a pretty good record.”
It was the third career win for the daughter of Highly Recommended who is raced by a group of owners including her breeders Alan and Edwina Morris of Berkley Stud.
Carston said he had no confirmed plans for Vouch though she was likely to race over the Christmas/New Year period.
The Cartson Racing stable was also represented at the Riccarton meeting by Aristotle who was runner-up in the Royal Ascot with George and Wheels Maiden (1600m), and Montreux Miss who placed third in the Rangiora New World Maiden (1200m).
“Aristotle was a pleasant surprise,” Carston said. “Montreux Miss had a tough run but stuck on well and is pretty honest.”
