Vouch was the impressive winner of the Jolly Potter & Supreme Equine Feeds HCP (1600m) at Phar Lap Raceway in Timaru on Friday.
The Andrew Carston-trained mare got away to a flyer from the outside barrier under jockey Matthew Cameron and was able to take the lead from the 1200m mark and fought on to win by two lengths on the line.
“We were confident of a good run with the blinkers on for the first time and having a senior rider onboard,” Carston said.
“She’s been a work in progress but she’s starting to put it all together now.”
It was the second win of the Highly Recommended mare’s career for her group of owners that includes her breeders Alan and Edwina Morris.
