Vishnu picked up a $11,500 bonus on top of her share of the $12,000 stake at Gore on Wednesday when the three-year-old filly won the NZB Insurance Pearl Series Handicap (1335m).
This was the daughter of Highly Recommended’s second career win in just five starts following her winning debut as a two-year-old.
“I placed her in this race to specifically target the Pearl Series bonus and it’s been a success which is great for her big group of owners,” said trainer Andrew Cartson, from the yearling sales at Karaka.
Ridden by Chris Johnson Vinishu jumped well to lead from barrier three and she never looked in danger over the 1335 meters.
Vishnu is a half-sister to the stakes-winning son of Fully Fledged, Fully Funded and she has now collected $20,550 in stakes for her owners R Barton, H Buchanan, H Darry, W Gill, N and N Greenslade, T Heta, T Kennedy, G Lawson, J Marfell Wiseman, A Maxwell, T O'Sullivan, J , R , S and S Perry, G and S Rawcliffe, D and M Stevens, A Stuart, B Wall, L Williamson and S Wiseman.
