Handy mare Red River Rock delivered her maiden win in excellent style in the Dominator Doors and Catering South Canterbury Mile at Timaru on Thursday.
Hampered between runners shortly after the start, Red River Rock was settled back by jockey Racha Cuneen before swooping at the 500m and running down the leaders for a comfortable win.
Raced by Tony Cook along with Anthony Penny, Geoff Cotton and M Mehaffey, Red River Rock has been a consistent mare with one win, five placings in her nine race day starts.
Bred by Cook she is by Westbury Stud’s Red Giant out of the six-time race winning and stakes placed Istidaad mare Dimondsontheinside.
