The Go Racing Cappucino Syndicate had reason to celebrate on Friday when Frazzle posted the first win of her career in the Carefree Stakes (1100m) at Wingatui.
Ridden by Jason Laking, Frazzle jumped well to lead, enjoyed the trail from the 800m before regaining the lead at the 200m and holding on at the line to beat the fast finishing Smile and third placed Our Frankie.
The win was Laking’s first since returning to the professional jockey ranks earlier this month, having only ridden in amateur races since February 2011.
Bred by Haunui Bloodstock Ltd, Frazzle is by Iffraaj out of the Jungle Pocket mare La Vazza, the now five-year-old was purchased by Go Racing out of Haunui Farm’s 2014 NZB Select Yearling Sale draft.
Formerly trained in the North Island by Stephen Marsh, Frazzle was transferred to Carston Racing Stables in July. She has since registered two seconds and this win in six southern starts.
