Carston Racing Stables kicked off the festive season with a winning duo at the Canterbury Jockey Club’s Christmas at the Races meeting on Friday.

Four-year-old Tavistock filly Hannah Marene broke out of maiden ranks in the King House Removals Maiden over 1600m for her owner and co-breeder Paul Cunneen.
Guided by leading jockey Chris Johnson Hannah Marene stormed home with a well-timed run to come out on top in a very close finish.
Then later in the evening, five-year-old Shocking mare Shocktillyoudrop (pictured right) registered the second win on her career in the Helston and Associated Rating 75 (1800m) with northern jockey Alysha Collett on board.
